Visiting the Life of a Celebrated Sculptor

There is always an instance that one is unsure of what kind of life he would take and what career he would get. This situation actually describes how Eduardo Castrillo's career as one of Asia's most progressive and original sculptors began.

He was born on October 3, 1942 in Sta. Ana, Manila. He was the youngest among the five children of Santiago Silva Castrillo and Magdalena Delos Santos. Eduardo Castrillo first studied Commercial Advertising Art but he was still in doubt what profession he'll take. He just studied Sculpture after having recognized as a Sculptor and meeting a European Swiss Designer and jewelery store owner of Estrella del Norte (a shop for the illustrious and wealthy whose main branch was in Paris.) Destiny brought the right path to a new career apt for him. He then took Architectural Subject.

Castrillo's meeting with the European Swiss Designer in 1964 pushed him into this new career. This owner invited young juveniles in an On-the-Spot jewelry making, and in just twenty minutes Eduardo created 7 designs and this European was astounded. He then invited Eduardo to work in his shop and make any designs he would wanted.

This opened the world of Sculpture to Eduardo Castrillo and until now he's been creating World Class Arts. He's not just an ordinary sculptor, for him "an artist must participate in the solution of problems, in filling the gap between rich and poor, in changing traditions that hamper the growth of society." http://www.eduardocastrillo.com/articles.asp

Castrillo won different awards local and international. He is one of the sought-after Sculptors in the world.
